Hello I am Lawrence and I am the Operations Manager of Oakfield,

I am passionate about supporting individuals with a learning disability to have an active and happy lifestyle. I have over 16 years’ experience supporting individuals with a learning disability with a majority of the years being in senior management roles within charitable organisations, the public and the private sector.

I have led on initiatives working together with individuals with a learning disability to have a voice and control of their own lives whilst working together with their families, friends and circles of support. I believe in getting the best out of every member of staff and for individuals with a learning disability to be supported in a personalised manner to achieve their full potential doing the things they enjoy.
I have trained as an accountant, a manager and as a social worker which has strengthened my knowledge and skills. A big part of my previous experience was setting up new support and working with local managers to maintain and improve the quality of support. I believe in partnership working with individuals supported, their circles of support and other agencies in responding to the outcomes and wishes of  people with a learning disability.

My role will be to work closely with the board of directors and staff at all levels ensuring that individuals we support remain at the centre of any decisions made and to continually improve the quality of the support that we provide.


Organisation Structure

As well as being registered as a charity, Oakfield (Easton Maudit) Limited is also a company limited by guarantee constituted by a Memorandum and Articles of Association.

The charity/company is managed by a board of trustee/directors and the day to day management of the company is vested in the operations manager (registered manager) who is also the senior employee of the company. There are currently fifty eight staff on the payroll comprising of departmental managers and their staff, senior care staff and carers.

Trustee/director meetings are held monthly where progress reports are presented to the board by the operations manager and consultant accountant.
