It's that time of the year again where everyone gets their boost of vitamin D.......well hopfully. We have a lot of summer fun activities and holidays planned for everyone to enjoy. We promote inclusion and choice so that all residents and tenants are consulted regarding wherever they would like to go, hot favorites being seaside holidays and Butlins adventures.

The annual Good Life Project Open Day at Oakfield was held in May. Although rain was forecast - we didn't see one drop of rain and the sun shone for the majority of the day - so much so that the sun hats and sun cream were also in evidence. The event was well supported and everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed spending their hard earned cash on the selection of plants on offer, the BBQ, cream teas and raffle and listening to the live music. We raised nearly £1,300 which is the most ever raised during an open day and the money raised will be ploughed back into the Good Life Project to develop the facilities further.

Recently we've made a real push to promote person centred and meaningful activities for the residents and tenants to experience.  Weekly groups are packing up and going off to the holidays of their choice and local activities are being sourced throughout the summer.

Others residents are attending a fortnightly session at the Sailability project at Pitsford.  One of our tenants has just taken part in a sponsored walk in aid of Cancer Research with a group of fellow residents and tenants accompanying her in support and we have also received a donation of some tickets for a day out at Thorpe Park.

All in all, it promises to be an action packed, fun filled summer for all concerned.
